As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the Platform team, you will turn large-scale data, including blockchain records, into production systems that stop fraud and make our products smarter and more intuitive.

Responsibilities

Explore and apply advanced machine learning techniques such as deep learning, large language models, and graph neural networks to solve challenges in fraud detection, ranking, recommendations, and blockchain analytics.
Design, build, and maintain reliable machine learning services that run smoothly in production with minimal ongoing support.
Create onboarding resources, tools, and shared infrastructure that help other teams across Coinbase adopt machine learning more easily.

Must-haves

Hands-on experience training and shipping at least one type of machine learning model, such as large language models, graph neural networks, deep learning, logistic regression, or gradient boosting trees.
Working knowledge in data mining, information retrieval, advanced statistics, natural language processing, or computer vision.
Strong alignment with our values of positive energy, clear communication, curiosity, and a builder mindset.
Professional fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

PhD with three or more years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Statistics, or a related field with six or more years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in Python.
Experience with data analysis and visualization.
