The opportunity

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the Platform Product Group, you will shape the intelligence layer that powers Coinbase at scale. Your models will protect users from fraud, surface the right information at the right moment, and quietly make every interaction feel simpler and safer. Because the Platform Group builds foundations used by every product team, the systems you create will touch millions of customers and set the standard for how machine learning serves an entire organization.

A day in the life

• You explore emerging techniques such as large language models, graph neural networks, and deep learning, then turn the most promising ideas into production services that detect fraud, rank content, or power chatbots.

• You design, train, and maintain reliable machine-learning pipelines that run smoothly in Coinbase’s production environment with minimal manual oversight.

• You create onboarding guides, shared tools, and self-serve infrastructure so that colleagues across the company can adopt machine learning without friction, spreading its benefits far beyond your own team.

Who you are

You bring several years of hands-on experience building and shipping at least one class of machine-learning model, whether large language models, graph neural networks, deep learning architectures, logistic regression, or gradient-boosting trees. You are comfortable mining large datasets, applying advanced statistics, retrieving information at scale, or working with natural-language and computer-vision techniques. Python is your daily language, and you move fluidly between data analysis, visualization, and model deployment.
