Picture a place where millions of people gather every day to talk about the things that matter most to them. That place is Reddit, a platform built on curiosity, conversation, and trust, where more than 73 million visitors explore over 100,000 active communities. Behind the scenes, our Ads Measurement Core team works to make sure the advertising that supports this vibrant ecosystem is both effective for businesses and respectful of user privacy.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Ads Measurement Core team. In this role you will help shape how we measure advertising performance while protecting user privacy. Your work will directly influence the tools advertisers rely on and the experience of the communities that make Reddit what it is. You will sit at the intersection of machine learning, privacy engineering, and advertising technology, turning complex data challenges into practical solutions that scale.
A day in the life
- You might start the morning reviewing the results of an A/B test that compares two identity-resolution models, then spend the afternoon pairing with a data scientist to refine a modeled-conversion algorithm before it moves into production.
- Mid-week you could lead a design review for a new privacy-preserving feature, guiding the team through trade-offs between accuracy and data minimization while mentoring a junior engineer on best practices.
- By the end of the week you might be exploring the latest research on reinforcement learning or transformer architectures, deciding which techniques could be adapted to improve ad measurement on Reddit’s unique platform.
Who you are
You bring at least five years of hands-on experience building and shipping machine-learning systems, ideally in advertising, privacy, or large-scale data environments. You have delivered complex projects from initial idea through production deployment and are comfortable leading technical initiatives. You have worked with privacy-enhancing technologies, identity matching, or ad measurement, and you are fluent in Python and SQL. Strong communication skills help you collaborate across engineering, product, and data science teams, and you enjoy mentoring others while staying current with advances in machine learning and AI.
Why you'll love it here
The base pay range for this position is $216,700–$303,400 USD. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer equity in the form of restricted stock units and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) program with employer match, generous paid time off, four or more months of paid parental leave, family-planning support, professional-development funds, home-office support, commuter benefits, and paid volunteer time off.
