We are GoFasti, a Talent-as-a-Service platform that connects top-tier developers and designers from Latin America with leading companies worldwide. We are currently looking for a Senior Kafka Developer to join our team as an independent contractor in a fully remote capacity.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and oversee robust data pipelines using Kafka.
- Handle the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Kafka clusters.
- Develop security protocols to safeguard our data streams and infrastructure.
- Fine-tune Kafka configurations to ensure maximum scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to meet project objectives and deadlines.
- Offer technical expertise and troubleshooting to enhance overall system performance.
- Integrate Kafka into new and existing architectures to maintain seamless operations.
- Act as a technical mentor by providing guidance on industry best practices.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience managing Kafka architecture, tuning, and deployment.
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Excellent English communication skills, specifically at a C1 level or higher, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly.
- Availability to work during Pacific Standard Time business hours, specifically from 10 AM to 6 PM PST.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on detail and continuous professional growth.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with Flink.
- Knowledge of TypeScript.
- Familiarity with serverless architectures.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, logging, and monitoring.
- Background in other big data technologies.
Benefits
The monthly salary for this contract position ranges from USD 3,500 to USD 5,200, based on your specific skills and seniority level.
