As a remote-first team backed by top-tier investors, we are looking for a talented Senior Java/Kotlin Backend Developer to help us scale our systems and handle the high-volume streaming data that powers our platform.

What you'll be doing

• Take ownership of the development and maintenance of our streaming sports data infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability for our consumer-facing products.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications within a microservices architecture.
• Champion disciplined software engineering practices, including writing clean code, maintaining excellent test coverage, and continuously improving our development processes through Agile and Scrum methodologies.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 8 years of professional experience working with the JVM.
• Deep expertise in Kafka, as you will serve as the primary subject matter expert for this technology on our team.
• Proficiency in Java and a willingness to work with Kotlin, along with experience in at least one other programming language.
• Solid understanding of SQL and modern database design principles.
• A proven track record of working effectively in a remote environment to solve complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly across diverse teams.
