The role

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join our Tour Sports Squad on a full-time, hybrid basis. Based out of our office in Budapest, you will work alongside a talented team of 15 engineers to design and optimize the data-intensive services that keep our platforms running smoothly during major sporting events. This is a senior-level position that requires a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Core responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot to support our tennis, cricket, and golf data pipelines.
• Scale and deploy applications within AWS infrastructure while ensuring high system reliability for high-traffic, real-time environments.
• Improve system observability and performance by utilizing tools like Datadog and implementing event-driven architectures.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a collaborative spirit. We require the following qualifications:

• Extensive professional experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot.
• Proven ability to work with microservices and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, including services such as ECS and Lambda.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
• Bonus points for experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and event-driven messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency in English to collaborate effectively with our global team.

Compensation and benefits
