Senior Java Developer at Graylog

We build powerful log management solutions that help users gain insights from their data, and we are looking for a talented Senior Java Developer to join our engineering team. What is this role?

This is a full-time, senior-level position focused on the backend development of our Graylog Open and Graylog Enterprise solutions. You will work on both cloud and on-premises versions of our software, collaborating closely with your team to design, build, and maintain high-quality code. We value engineers who take pride in their work and are eager to contribute to the architecture and design of our systems.

What will you do?

• Lead the design and implementation of complex, large-scale software features while focusing on performance, data management, and security.
• Collaborate with your team to improve our core platform, specifically handling OpenSearch management features and backend architecture.
• Mentor your peers through code reviews and knowledge sharing to help the entire team grow.

We are looking for someone who brings a strong technical background and a collaborative spirit. To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

• At least 4 years of professional programming experience, including work on challenging, complex projects.
• Deep expertise in Java 17 and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code.
• Practical experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or similar search technologies in a production environment.
• Familiarity with our tech stack, which includes MongoDB, Maven, IntelliJ, Git, GitHub, and Jenkins.
• Proficiency in English to communicate effectively within our distributed team.
• A willingness to travel to our Hamburg office occasionally to connect with your colleagues in person.
