At Bastion, we are building the regulated financial infrastructure that powers modern businesses. Our comprehensive product suite enables stablecoin issuance, custodial wallet management, and global asset conversion. By combining a compliance-first approach with robust risk management, we ensure the security and integrity of all financial activity within our systems. Whether we are operating under our own licenses or providing support for our customers, we are dedicated to creating reliable, high-integrity financial rails.
The role
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position that requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. You can work remotely from anywhere in the United States, or join us at our office in New York City.
Core responsibilities
- Take full ownership of critical infrastructure domains, such as our Kubernetes platform, observability stack, or CI/CD pipelines, to enhance system reliability and developer velocity.
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform to standardize deployment patterns across development, sandbox, and production environments.
- Collaborate closely with our engineering, security, and compliance teams to balance technical tradeoffs, optimize costs, and harden our AWS environment against security threats.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience with our core technology stack and a proven track record of managing complex cloud environments. We look for proficiency in the following areas:
- Cloud and Compute: Deep expertise in AWS, including EKS, ECS, Lambda, and EC2, alongside strong skills in Kubernetes and Docker.
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Advanced proficiency in Terraform for managing and automating infrastructure.
- Programming: Experience writing production-grade code in Go and TypeScript.
- Data and Observability: Familiarity with Postgres, Redis, and Kafka, as well as experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Sentry.
- Operational Excellence: A history of improving CI/CD reliability, implementing security best practices, and managing incident response.
Compensation and benefits
We value the contributions of our team members and offer the following benefit:
- Remote work: We support a flexible, remote-first culture for team members based in the United States.
