Senior II Data Engineer at Zitara Technologies, Inc.

We are looking for a Senior II Data Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity. At Zitara, we are dedicated to solving the climate crisis by ensuring batteries are safe and reliable. As a YCombinator S20 company, we develop advanced software that helps our customers manage battery design and deployment, supporting large-scale operations in satellites, electric vehicles, and renewable energy storage. Responsibilities

• Apply rigorous software engineering methodologies to solve complex data and operational challenges across various technical disciplines.
• Prioritize and scope tasks effectively to ensure our software systems are constantly improving and meeting our operational goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide clear documentation, ensuring that the systems you build are well-understood and adopted by stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in data engineering and a passion for building robust tools. We require the following qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in data engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in areas such as managing large datasets, working with time-series databases, or automating data collection and validation.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and AWS cloud services.
• A proven track record of shipping reliable internal tools and the ability to solve problems creatively under constraints.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

We also value experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster, as well as any background in IoT, battery technology, or mechanical and electrical engineering.

What we offer
