About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Ground Software Operations Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will report to the VP of Payload Engineering and collaborate closely with our analytics and software groups. You will be responsible for creating the tools, processes, and products that ensure our customers receive the high-quality data they need to optimize their operations and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect software solutions that facilitate the efficient upload and download of complex imagery and tasking data.
- Develop and refine scheduling algorithms to manage our constellation of hyperspectral imaging satellites.
- Build and maintain a robust modeling and simulation codebase that will be utilized by multiple internal teams to support mission success.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should have a strong technical foundation and a background in the aerospace or software industry. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Astronautical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional experience within the space or software sectors.
- High proficiency in Python or C++, along with a solid understanding of Linux and Unix environments.
- A deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and interface design.
- Experience working with software APIs for telemetry data and verifying spacecraft health or tasking plans.
- Note: Due to ITAR regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or eligible to obtain the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
