Role at a glance

We are looking for a Senior Geospatial Software Engineer to join our SIGMA team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere. You will report directly to our Lead Data Pipeline Software Engineer and play a key role in designing and coding the production pipelines that process imagery from our GHOSt satellite constellation.

Your impact

• Develop and implement complex image processing algorithms within an automated production environment.
• Create and maintain robust tools designed to monitor and manage our processing systems.
• Partner closely with our satellite payload and analytics teams to integrate research-driven algorithms into the SIGMA platform.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role, you should be fluent in English and possess the following technical background:

• At least 5 years of professional experience developing software with Python and geospatial data.
• Proven ability to write high-quality code for production environments.
• Deep expertise in data pipeline orchestration, specifically with Airflow.
• Extensive knowledge of open-source GIS tools like GDAL and Rasterio.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud deployments and Linux environments.
• Proficiency with scientific computing libraries including NumPy and Xarray.

Bonus points if you have experience with machine learning, remote sensing analytics, imaging principles, or earth sciences.
