The role

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Developer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere. As a senior member of our engineering organization, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical architecture and mentoring those around you, ensuring we maintain a high bar for quality while delivering features that solve real-world problems for our customers.

Core responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and UX teams to understand customer challenges and lead the development of effective, scalable solutions.
• Maintain technical excellence by contributing high-quality, thoroughly tested code and providing thoughtful, constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Take ownership of our technical architecture by identifying opportunities to reduce technical debt and evangelizing best practices in Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and database design.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in web application development and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. We value candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• Extensive experience building web applications, ideally with at least 5 years of work with Ruby on Rails or 7 years with similar frameworks like Django or Node.js.
• Deep expertise in designing performant data models using MySQL, including a solid understanding of indexing, query optimization, and relational database architecture.
• A strong grasp of GraphQL for building robust API interfaces that power both front-end experiences and CLI tools.
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure and cloud technologies, such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Proficiency in Vue.js for front-end development and Golang for operational tooling.
• An empathetic, pragmatic mindset that prioritizes getting things done while maintaining clean, maintainable code.
