At Linear, we are busy building the next generation of product development systems for modern teams and agents. Since our founding in 2019, we have become the platform of choice for over 25,000 companies, including industry leaders like OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp. We believe artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing how software is created, and we are dedicated to crafting the tools that this new era demands. Our distributed team across North America and Europe is united by a relentless focus on fast execution and a deep appreciation for software craftsmanship.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote role designed for an experienced professional who thrives in a generalist environment. You will be expected to take ownership of complex problems and see them through to completion. While we work with a specific stack, we value strong engineering fundamentals above all else.
What will you do?
- Build comprehensive, user-facing features that span the entire stack, from defining database models and GraphQL resolvers to crafting polished UI components.
- Enhance our data synchronization infrastructure by implementing more efficient serialization protocols and real-time collaborative editing capabilities.
- Improve system performance and reliability by profiling rendering processes, adding robust monitoring, and setting up alerts to respond effectively to operational incidents.
What makes you a great fit?
You should be an experienced software engineer who is comfortable working close to the product and cares about performance at scale. Because we operate as a small, agile team, you will be successful if you are a proactive problem solver who enjoys picking up new challenges. We rely on a modern stack including TypeScript, React, Node, Postgres, Redis, Temporal, MobX, and Kubernetes. While you do not need to be an expert in every single tool we use, you must possess strong JavaScript fundamentals and a solid background in React and TypeScript. Proficiency in English is required for our collaborative, async-first environment.
What's in it for you?
We are a focused team that prioritizes high-quality work and the well-being of our colleagues. As a member of our team, you will receive:
- Equity compensation with employee-friendly terms.
- Comprehensive medical insurance coverage.
- Paid time off, including 5 weeks of vacation plus local statutory holidays.
- Generous maternity and paternity leave of 4 months.
- A remote-first work environment with flexible hours.
- Regular company retreats and team events to connect in person.
- A dedicated coworking budget to ensure you have a comfortable workspace.
