Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer at ChargeLab

Imagine working at the heart of the electric vehicle revolution. At ChargeLab, we think of ourselves as the Android of the EV charging world. We do not manufacture hardware ourselves. Instead, we partner with industry giants like Siemens, ABB, and Eaton to power their chargers with our sophisticated software. Our platform helps building owners, fleet managers, and utilities oversee thousands of charging stations through our management system and open APIs. With 30 million USD in funding and a growing team of 65 people, we are preparing for a future where the majority of new vehicles on North American roads are electric. We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join one of our collaborative development pods and help us build the world's best software for managing large-scale charging networks.

The opportunity

As a senior member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we deliver high-quality features to our customers. You will work within a cross-functional pod of 5 to 8 engineers, reporting directly to an Engineering Manager. Your work will bridge the gap between our React-based frontend and our Java-powered, event-driven microservice architecture. Beyond writing code, you will act as a technical leader, providing guidance to your pod and mentoring other engineers across the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that our releases are both rapid and reliable, directly impacting the quality and efficiency of our output.

A day in the life

• Collaborate daily with product, design, and architecture teams to refine features and ensure we are building the right solutions for our users.
• Write and maintain high-quality code using React for the frontend and Java within our distributed microservice environment.
• Mentor fellow engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence by sharing your expertise and providing constructive feedback on architectural decisions.

Who you are

You are an experienced engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a proven track record of delivering robust software products. You possess a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field. Your technical toolkit includes strong proficiency in React and significant experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language. You understand the complexities of microservice and event-driven architectures, and you are comfortable working within AWS environments. We value excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping others grow through mentorship. If you have prior experience in B2B or B2C SaaS, you will fit right in with our mission.
