At HONK, we are transforming the roadside assistance industry by challenging outdated methods with innovative, technology-driven solutions. Our team is composed of creative thinkers who are passionate about helping people during their most stressful moments on the road, and we are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join us in this mission.

Responsibilities

Partner with our CTO and engineering team to architect and design impactful new products and features.
Build and maintain our core dispatch applications using Ruby on Rails.
Scale our real-time, location-based platforms and machine learning dispatch systems to support our growth.
Manage full-stack development tasks, including API integration and overall system performance optimization.
Produce clean, high-quality code while establishing and enforcing best practices for system design.

Must-haves

At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on full-stack development.
Deep expertise in developing dynamic web applications within an agile framework.
Proven success working with Ruby on Rails, RESTful APIs, and real-time location systems.
Strong proficiency in both SQL, specifically PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases like Redis.
Experience managing the scalability and performance of large-scale systems.
Comfortable using modern development tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and CI pipelines.
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and lead other engineers.

Nice-to-haves

Hands-on experience working with telephony applications, such as Twilio.
