Key outcomes

• Design, build, and integrate robust systems and APIs to enhance the end-to-end claims experience for our users.
• Create a seamless and accurate claim submission process that ensures high visibility and timely resolution for our customers.
• Collaborate with our data science team to utilize telematics and machine learning techniques, such as image processing and predictive assessments, to automate claims processing and improve efficiency.
• Partner with design and data teams to develop sophisticated fraud detection systems that identify anomalies and flag potential risks.
• Build and automate data acquisition and enrichment platforms to ensure timely assessments and accurate outcomes.
• Uphold and elevate our engineering standards by writing high-quality, well-tested code, developing reusable libraries, and mentoring junior team members.
• Actively contribute to our humble, collaborative, and impact-driven company culture.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in backend software development, with a proven track record of building performant, scalable, and resilient production-grade systems.
• Proficiency with React or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with Python and web frameworks such as Flask or Django.
• Strong understanding of HTTP APIs, message brokers, and database technologies including PostgreSQL.
• Deep knowledge of core web and browser concepts, including how browsers parse and construct pages.
• Experience working within containerized Linux environments hosted on AWS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• A self-driven mindset with the ability to work independently in a highly agile, iterative development environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with non-structured databases such as Cassandra.
• Understanding of statistical and machine learning models.
