At Railway, our mission is to provide software engineers with the high-leverage tools they need to spend less time on configuration and more time building. We believe that making deployment and infrastructure accessible is one of the most significant productivity unlocks of our generation. We are a team of 21 people serving hundreds of thousands of users, and we are looking for someone to help us build an operating system for developers. We operate as a fully remote, global team, and we hire the best talent regardless of where they call home.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our product team. This is a high-impact, high-agency role where you will have a direct influence on our company culture and trajectory. You will work across our entire stack to build features that simplify complex computing paradigms. Whether you are crafting intuitive dashboard interfaces or orchestrating microservices, your work will empower our users to build and deploy their projects with ease.
A day in the life
- You will build features from the ground up, moving from the frontend dashboard all the way to orchestrating backend workflows with Temporal.
- You will design and implement TypeScript and GraphQL APIs that provide strong data modeling guarantees for both our internal team and our external users.
- You will take ownership of the full development lifecycle, including writing engineering requirement documents, implementing solutions, and monitoring the success of your features.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer who thrives in environments with high ambiguity and high ownership. You possess a strong background in frontend architecture and are comfortable building interactive systems that handle complex data mutations. You have experience managing asynchronous backend jobs, and you are eager to contribute to our open-source projects using Rust. Because we work in a mostly asynchronous environment, you have excellent written communication skills and the ability to lead projects from the initial research phase through to final implementation.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in providing best-in-class support for our team members. We offer a competitive salary, equity compensation, and comprehensive medical insurance that covers your dependents. We also provide an equipment stipend to help you set up your ideal home office. Beyond the financial package, we foster a culture of autonomy and flexible hours. We keep meetings to a minimum to ensure your time remains sacred, and we offer unlimited vacation to help you recharge. We are deeply committed to your professional growth and will support you in developing your skills, whether your path leads you to stay with us for many years or to pursue new challenges elsewhere.
