Senior Frontend Engineer at Gelato

Gelato operates the world's largest platform for on-demand production, connecting e-commerce entrepreneurs with a global network of over 130 production partners. By linking supply and demand locally, we help creators sell products like apparel and wall art while significantly reducing carbon emissions and waste. We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity, based in Spain or Pakistan, to help us scale our cloud-based connectivity platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine user interfaces across our product suite using modern web technologies.
• Partner with UI/UX designers and product managers to bring our product vision to life.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects and fellow engineers, to build creative, scalable solutions.
• Mentor team members and contribute to the evolution of our engineering best practices.
• Own your team's services from end to end, ensuring high quality, reliability, and participation in on-call rotations.

Must-haves

• A B.S. degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or at least 5 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience writing high-quality, standards-compliant JavaScript and TypeScript code.
• Strong proficiency in React or Angular, with a genuine interest in exploring frameworks like Svelte.
• Experience building shared UI components and a strong foundation in test-driven development.
• A sharp eye for design details and a passion for UX.
• Excellent communication skills in English, as all applications must be submitted with an English CV.
• A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and team growth.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with observability and monitoring tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and microservices architectures.
