About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Frontend Developer for a full-time position. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the future of our user interfaces. You will work within a complex, high-traffic environment to improve, rationalize, and modernize our frontend architecture. This is a unique opportunity to influence our technical standards and contribute to a product that makes a significant impact on the internet.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain intuitive, modern user interfaces using Vue.js, CSS, and JavaScript while focusing on accessibility and performance.
- Collaborate with our design and engineering teams to evolve the Matomo design system, creating scalable components that ensure consistency across the platform.
- Take ownership of technical decisions within our codebase, simplifying complexity and mentoring team members to raise the overall quality of our frontend practices.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in building and maintaining complex web applications. Our ideal candidate brings the following qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in frontend development, ideally working on large-scale systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in CSS, JavaScript, and component-based development, specifically with Vue.js.
- A solid understanding of PHP logic and templating, with the ability to navigate view, controller, and plugin structures effectively.
- Proven experience in frontend architecture and a deep passion for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a remote, globally distributed team environment.
Location
This is a 100% remote position, and you must be based in New Zealand.
