Senior Flutter Engineers are well-trusted members of the team that can resolve almost every single technical challenge they face without guidance. They have a strong understanding of the project domain, and the rest of the team relies on them for efficient planning and collaboration methods.

Senior Engineers are considered project captains: they are brand ambassadors, they deliver the project following VGV’s quality standards, and they help other members of the team to grow, comparing their success to the success and growth of the team they lead.

At VGV you will play a key role in the success of the development of high-quality mobile applications to meet the needs of our clients and their end-users. You will work with well-known companies ranging from well-funded startups to Fortune 500 companies, in diverse industries such as entertainment, automotive, and fintech. You will write clean and maintainable code adhering to VGV’s standards, ensure the performance and quality of your applications, and collaborate with many talented teammates from engineering, design, and product management.  We’re looking for someone who has a strong background in working and releasing a Flutter product to production, as well as having an interest in mentoring and leading teams to success.

• You are a trusted and experienced software engineer. You are capable of delivering high-quality and performant software solutions at scale and leading the most complex parts of project development.

• You actively lead scoping and estimating activities, working with all your peers and stakeholders to find a way to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
• You actively participate in code reviews, taking this opportunity as a moment to mentor and coach the team.

• You actively lead code pairing sessions and mentor others to learn how to do so effectively.

Reliability

• You provide detailed status updates of your work on team meetings
• You complete, document, and architect software solutions in a timely manner
• Expected minimum annual utilization target of 80%, understanding that the target is only achievable if sufficient work is won.

At this level, you are considered a team/project leader that is highly trusted by your peers. You feel comfortable leading all aspects of your project, from architecture to feature development, and you are a role model for the rest of the engineers on your project.

• You actively share your professional journey and experiences in your preferred channels (local meetups, LinkedIn, Twitter).

• You actively engage in community activities representing VGV, such as conferences, speaking events, open-source contributions.

Qualifications:

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related field
• 5 years of professional experience working as a software engineer in a team environment
• Proven proficiency with frontend technologies (like Flutter or React) and backend technologies (Firebase, AWS etc.)
• Deep understanding of the Flutter framework and how dependency injection and scoping dependencies work using provider
• Strong understanding of software development at scale
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders
• Experience with native mobile development (iOS or Android) and/or Firebase with TypeScript
• Complete understanding of flutter_bloc
• Strong understanding of the capabilities of critical third party products, such as Firebase, Auth0, AWS, Google Map, etc.

Nice to have:

• A Github repository with at least one Flutter project (extra kudos if your Flutter project uses flutter_bloc and has a good set of unit and/or widget tests!).
• Experience in a consulting environment
