As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity to help us innovate and maintain our world-class product line.
Key outcomes
- Lead the ongoing development, maintenance, and enhancement of firmware across our entire product portfolio.
- Collaborate with the software team to ensure seamless data communication and device interface testing.
- Partner with our Hardware Development team to design, analyze, and validate electronic circuits and systems for next-generation tracking devices.
- Create PC-based test software to interface with our products using Bluetooth Low Energy, cellular, and satellite networks.
- Work alongside Application Engineering to ensure all hardware is fully testable during the manufacturing process.
- Develop comprehensive documentation and technical specifications for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management and Quality Assurance, to establish firmware development standards and communication protocols.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Between 4 and 7 years of professional experience in firmware development.
- Expertise in C programming and proficiency in Python.
- Strong experience debugging complex firmware within RTOS environments, such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Practical knowledge of wireless interfaces, with a specific focus on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, and ADC.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and design files, as well as experience using test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Experience implementing bootloaders across various interfaces.
- A proven history of successfully delivering products to market.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Fluency in English.
