Senior Firmware Engineer, Connectivity at Eightsleep

We are currently looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis to lead our connectivity initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain the Bluetooth connectivity layer for our Pod ecosystem, including the definition of GATT services and connection strategies.
• Optimize device performance by managing radio duty cycles and connection parameters to ensure low-latency data synchronization while maintaining power efficiency.
• Ensure seamless interoperability across a wide range of mobile devices by utilizing protocol analyzers and telemetry to diagnose and resolve complex cross-stack issues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years specifically focused on shipping production-level Bluetooth firmware.
• Strong technical proficiency in C/C++ for resource-constrained microcontrollers and experience with scripting languages like Python for host-side tooling.
• Deep understanding of hardware fundamentals, including peripheral drivers, bus protocols like I2C and SPI, and the ability to read schematics for board bring-up.
• Hands-on experience with vendor-specific SDK environments and a proven track record of debugging complex wireless systems.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate effectively across remote teams and a willingness to travel to support manufacturing partners.
