Since our founding in 2019, Brimstone has been dedicated to solving one of the most critical challenges of our time by developing a breakthrough process to decarbonize cement production. As we scale our operations and build our first production facilities, we are looking for a Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our team. You will partner closely with our technical staff and the VP of Engineering to manage R&D and engineering activities as we move toward commercialization. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise to a mission-driven organization while working alongside a collaborative, talented group of professionals.
Key outcomes
- Lead project management for internal R&D, pilot plant design, and the planning of commercial demonstration projects.
- Collaborate with technical teams to establish project roadmaps that align with our broader company objectives.
- Oversee resource planning, including personnel, time, and budget management, to ensure all deliverables are met.
- Maintain project risk registers and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Monitor progress and metrics, identifying dependencies and communicating status updates across the organization.
- Coordinate with external vendors and EPC project management teams to ensure schedules and deliverables remain on track.
- Facilitate communication across cross-functional teams, including process engineering, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, and finance.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in science and engineering roles.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in technical project management.
- Proficiency with project management software, specifically Oracle Primavera or Microsoft Project.
- A demonstrated history of executing complex projects and meeting critical milestones.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- The ability to travel up to 15% of the time as project needs dictate.
Preferred qualifications
- An advanced degree in a relevant field.
- 5 or more years of experience in technical project management.
- Background in chemical processing, mineral processing, or cement production.
- Familiarity with process hazard analysis, vendor negotiations, and capital project cost estimation.
- Experience navigating the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design and FEED to construction and commissioning.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000 per year. In addition to the base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
