The role
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is an executive-level position for a leader who is passionate about building web systems from the ground up. You will be responsible for the technical architecture and implementation of our product while managing a diverse team of onsite and offshore engineers and quality engineers. We need a hands-on leader who can balance strategic insight with technical execution to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Please note that this position is currently open only to US-based applicants.
Core responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, precision, and continuous learning.
- Architect and implement scalable solutions by owning system design and actively contributing to coding, debugging, and optimizing critical components.
- Drive execution of key initiatives by collaborating cross-functionally with Product Management and Design to align technical decisions with our business objectives.
Skills and experience
- At least 12 years of software engineering experience, supported by a degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
- Over 5 years of experience leading agile teams, including mentoring staff and driving technical execution.
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience building scalable front-end applications with React, backend systems using Python, and cloud-native deployments on AWS.
- Proven ability to build and consume RESTful web services and a strong understanding of distributed application design patterns.
- Proficiency with Git and modern CI/CD workflows, alongside a comprehensive knowledge of testing methodologies.
- Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, combined with a strong security mindset regarding data protection and secure coding.
- Experience integrating LLMs to enhance product functionality is highly valued.
