Senior Engineering Manager at Crunchtime

You will join Crunchtime, the company whose platform powers operations for global restaurant brands. Our software helps the world’s leading foodservice operators deliver consistent guest experiences and manage food and labor costs across more than 125,000 locations in over 100 countries. Customers such as Chipotle, Culver’s, Domino’s, Dunkin’, Five Guys, and P.F. Chang’s rely on our platform, which now includes Zenput, to handle inventory, staff scheduling, learning and development, food safety, operational tasks, and audits.

What you'll be doing

• Lead one or two engineering teams, guiding hiring, retention, performance management, and day-to-day coaching while keeping delivery on track.
• Partner with an embedded product manager to set short- and long-term priorities, ensuring the team builds the right features at the right time.
• Champion sound technical practices-such as code review, automation, testing, and pragmatic design-while balancing today’s needs with the platform’s future health.

What you'll bring

You bring several years of software engineering experience and a track record of managing engineers across different settings. You have served in player-coach roles, shaping both team culture and technical direction, and other engineers have looked to you for guidance. You are comfortable digging into codebases to build empathy and understanding, and you favor simplicity and pragmatism over over-engineering.

You have developed career plans, conducted performance reviews, run interviews, and coached engineers at varying skill levels. Strong communication, empathy, and emotional intelligence are second nature to you; you balance facilitation with decisive leadership and value the global outcome over local wins. You believe in fostering psychological safety, delivering frequent constructive feedback, and creating an environment where people can do their best work while enjoying the process.

Experience with React, TypeScript, .NET, MS SQL Server, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, Slack, and Zoom is helpful, as is familiarity with DevOps practices or enterprise-scale web products. English fluency is required.
