Our work centers on developing protocols, governance systems, developer tools, and financial products that bring more assets onchain and enable the future of decentralized finance. The Compound Protocol, our flagship creation, is a multi-chain interest rate protocol on Ethereum that powers billions of dollars in assets earning interest daily and stands among the largest and most secure DeFi protocols in operation.

Key outcomes

• Design, build, test, and launch smart contracts in Solidity for EVM-based blockchains that improve the security, capital efficiency, and accessibility of DeFi.
• Verify the correctness of financial algorithms that underpin protocol operations.
• Develop back-end web services that interact reliably with blockchains and support high-traffic usage.
• Monitor developments across the DeFi ecosystem to identify opportunities for protocol improvement and expansion.
• Lead project planning and execution within a small team, taking ownership of initiatives that deliver long-term impact.
• Mentor fellow engineers and share technical knowledge to strengthen overall team capability.

Requirements

• Five or more years of professional engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong familiarity with the current DeFi ecosystem.
• Proven expertise in building web services capable of handling high traffic volumes.
• Exceptional judgment, strategic thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and a strong analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Solidity or Yul.
• Knowledge of Layer 2 blockchains such as Arbitrum or Optimism, and cross-chain bridges.
• Experience with development frameworks including Foundry or Hardhat.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Elixir, or Phoenix.
• Experience with Elm or React.
