Senior Engineer Equipment Design and Development at Voltaira

With our brands Voltaira and Autokabel, we operate from our German headquarters and serve customers across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and North Africa through a network of 11,500 colleagues at 50 sites. We are now looking for an experienced engineer to strengthen our equipment design efforts at our Pune Lonikand location in India.

What is this role?

This is a full-time, on-site Senior Engineer position focused on equipment design and development. The role calls for someone with several years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering and automation who is ready to take ownership of special-purpose machinery projects from concept through production support.

What will you do?

• Design and develop custom machines, jigs, and fixtures used in wire-assembly processes, including the creation of alternative concepts and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Produce and maintain complete equipment documentation such as bills of materials, technical specifications, and programming logic while coordinating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of machined parts and standard components.
• Guide the assembly of equipment and provide ongoing support for current products through continuous improvement initiatives and customer-issue resolution, all while following IATF 16949 policies and procedures.

What makes you a great fit?

You hold a degree in mechanical engineering and bring four to six years of experience designing and developing customized automation equipment. You are comfortable selecting and integrating automation components such as pneumatics, servo motors, sensors, LVDTs, robots, and cobots, and you have solid knowledge of various machining processes. Your portfolio shows strong proficiency in 3D modeling, assembly, and 2D drafting, with Inventor experience considered a plus. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and you combine an action-oriented mindset with a customer-focused, ethical approach that helps you build effective peer relationships while working independently when needed.
