- Enhance connectivity features, including network stack improvements, OTA update recovery, and fleet telemetry management.
- Develop and test new features, which occasionally involves hands-on testing with food.
- Troubleshoot bugs and implement reliable, long-term solutions.
- Support our manufacturing processes by assisting with firmware flashing, provisioning, and end-of-line testing.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for code, architecture, and user manuals.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of professional experience in firmware engineering.
- Strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, including WiFi, Bluetooth, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with ESP-IDF, FreeRTOS, and bootloader development.
- Capability to design and utilize REST APIs and manage databases.
- Experience with version control and hardware-based unit testing.
- Ability to write portable, thread-safe code that handles potential failure modes gracefully.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with C++.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
Benefits
The annual salary for this position is $140,000 - $180,000.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
