At Brave, we are dedicated to protecting the fundamental human right to online privacy. We have developed a suite of tools, including a free web browser that blocks intrusive ads and trackers, a private search engine with an independent index, a browser-native crypto wallet, and an opt-in ad network that rewards users for their attention. With over 65 million people already using our products to enjoy a faster and more private web, we are rapidly growing and looking for talented individuals to help us challenge the status quo of Big Tech. If you are passionate about building a better internet, we would love to have you on our team.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps/WebOps Engineer to join us on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the robust infrastructure and processes required to support our current user base and scale our services for the next 100 million users. You will work within a sophisticated tech stack that includes AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible, among many others, to ensure our platforms remain secure, efficient, and highly available.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the stability of our web services and ensure our continuous delivery pipelines remain reliable and efficient.
- Design, migrate, and secure our cloud infrastructure while developing code to automate the deployment and management of our applications.
- Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, build proof-of-concept solutions, and manage our production environments.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should bring a strong background in infrastructure engineering and a commitment to privacy. We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Deep expertise in managing CDNs, caching policies, TLS certificates, proxying, and firewalls, as well as experience with cost optimization.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, and Cloudfront.
- Proficiency in building CI pipelines as code using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, specifically Terraform.
- A mindful approach to security and user privacy in every aspect of your work.
Location
This is a fully remote position. We are specifically looking for candidates based in North America, South America, or the Caribbean to align with our primary working timezones.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of 100,000 USD to 150,000 USD for candidates based in the United States, with market-competitive rates for other locations. In addition to your salary, you will enjoy:
- The flexibility of a fully remote work environment.
- A dedicated home office budget to ensure you have the right setup.
- Flexible hours to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.
