The opportunity

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will join our Foundation team to build and manage the core systems that keep Checkr running. We believe that every engineering team should take ownership of their own software, and you will be the catalyst that makes this possible. Your role is to provide the tools, expertise, and best practices that empower our developers to build reliable, scalable, and efficient services. You will act as a guide for other teams, helping them fine-tune their infrastructure so they can focus on what they do best: building superior software.

A day in the life

• You will design, build, and optimize our cloud infrastructure while scaling our systems to support our continued growth.
• You will refine our CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling to ensure our deployment processes are as efficient and robust as possible.
• You will partner directly with application developers to debug production issues, share best practices, and ensure our architecture remains secure and performant.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer with over five years of experience in DevOps or a related field. You thrive in a collaborative environment and take a product-first approach to platform adoption. You are comfortable mentoring others and enjoy building strong relationships across engineering teams. Your technical toolkit includes:

• Deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and IaC.
• Strong proficiency with Linux, microservice architecture, and CI/CD workflows.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, and web application security.
• Recent programming experience in Golang, Python, or Ruby.
• Advanced English communication skills to work effectively within our international team.
