We are thrilled to invite you to join Coates Group, a global technology leader with nearly 60 years of experience in connecting major brands with their customers. You likely have already interacted with our digital solutions if you have ordered at a drive-thru or in-store at McDonald’s locations around the world. Based in Sydney, Australia, we combine the heart of a family-owned business with the agility of a startup. As a two-time Australia Good Design Award winner, we pride ourselves on being creators and thinkers who are revolutionizing how brands use technology to drive meaningful customer experiences. We are looking for a talented individual to help us continue our journey of growth and innovation.
What you'll be doing
- You will manage and maintain over 100 AWS instances across 50 global VPCs, while overseeing a fleet of tens of thousands of Linux-powered IoT devices.
- You will proactively identify opportunities for automation and optimization across our development teams to improve system architecture and cloud infrastructure.
- You will collaborate closely with your squad to implement DevOps principles, monitor system performance, and ensure the reliability and security of our production environments.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have 3 to 5 years of experience in software development or platform engineering. We are looking for someone who communicates effectively in English and possesses the following technical expertise:
- Strong proficiency in AWS, including EC2, Lambda, and SQS.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Solid knowledge of Linux system administration, preferably with Ubuntu.
- Experience using configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as SumoLogic and AWS CloudWatch.
- A deep understanding of modern software architectures, including microservices and serverless workloads.
- A collaborative mindset with experience working in Agile environments.
What you'll get
We believe in supporting your professional and personal growth through a culture that values flexibility and well-being. Your benefits include:
- Hybrid work options as part of our Thrive Program.
- An annual market-competitive bonus program.
- Access to the Thrive Program, which offers dedicated time for health and wellness activities like virtual yoga or meditation.
- A Global Wellness paid day off to help you recharge.
- A dedicated Give Back Day to support your community.
