The opportunity
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between our research goals and our technical execution. You will be responsible for the health and efficiency of our computational workflows, ensuring that our scientists have the robust, reliable, and scalable systems they need to innovate. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Toronto office, where you will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of engineers and researchers to push the boundaries of what is possible in biotechnology.
A day in the life
- You will design and maintain both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring that our computational pipelines run seamlessly.
- You will refine our CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI to accelerate our development cycles and improve software delivery.
- You will implement proactive monitoring strategies with Prometheus and leverage automation to maintain high system availability and performance.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional with at least three years of experience in DevOps or a related field. You have a deep understanding of Linux system administration and are comfortable writing scripts in Python and BASH to solve complex problems. Your technical toolkit includes proficiency with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, as well as hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. You possess a strong grasp of networking and security principles, and you communicate effectively in English. If you have experience with high-performance computing or cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, you will fit right in with our mission-driven team.
