At Upbound, we are dedicated to leading the modernization of the cloud native ecosystem. We build tools that empower developers to navigate complex infrastructure with ease, and we are looking for someone who wants to be at the forefront of this transformation. By bridging the gap between engineering and evangelism, we help our community adopt powerful technologies while reducing friction in their daily workflows.
The role
We are seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical product development and community engagement. You will act as both a technical evangelist and an ecosystem influencer, helping us shape the future of our products while building meaningful relationships with the developers who use them.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to increase awareness and adoption of our core products.
- Create high-quality technical content, including blog posts, videos, tutorials, white papers, and live streams, to help users succeed with our technology.
- Collaborate closely with our engineering, product, and marketing teams to improve the developer experience, influence our product roadmap, and represent our brand at industry events and conferences.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong background in both technical work and community building. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in developer advocacy within open source communities, combined with roles in software engineering, operations, or technical support.
- Proficiency in a modern programming language, specifically Go.
- Deep familiarity with cloud native landscapes, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure architectures.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences through presentations and written documentation.
- Experience launching developer products and fostering active, growing communities.
- A passion for solving problems and acting as a thought partner for other developers.
- Bonus points if you have contributed to the upstream Kubernetes community, written Kubernetes controllers, or have prior experience thriving in a remote startup environment.
Compensation and benefits
We believe in supporting our team members wherever they choose to work. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute from anywhere.
How to apply
If you are passionate about cloud native technology and want to help us lead the industry, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to our team to share your experience and let us know why you are the right fit for this mission.
