The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be a key guardian of our data systems, ensuring that our platforms remain secure, available, and highly performant. You will work closely with our Production Engineering team to provide critical services for our SaaS customers, acting as a consultant to our internal developers and helping us evolve our infrastructure through best practices and smart automation.
A day in the life
- You will proactively monitor our database management systems to identify potential issues before they impact our users, ensuring constant availability.
- You will dive deep into SQL analysis and performance tuning to ensure our queries are optimized for maximum efficiency.
- You will build and deploy automation tools that reduce manual toil and improve the overall reliability of our database environments.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional with a strong technical background and a passion for data management. We value candidates who bring the following experience and skills to our team:
- At least 5 years of experience supporting MS SQL Server, including proficiency with clustering, replication, and log shipping.
- At least 3 years of experience working with Oracle Server 19c or newer.
- At least 3 years of experience managing cloud database services like Amazon RDS or Azure SQL.
- Deep expertise in PowerShell or similar scripting languages to drive automation.
- A solid grasp of relational database theory, along with a track record of successful performance tuning and query optimization.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
