The role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. This is a senior-level position for an experienced professional who is ready to take ownership of complex machine learning initiatives. You will play a critical role in our analytics department, working at the intersection of game development and advanced data science to deliver personalized experiences for our players.

Core responsibilities

• Design and develop machine learning models that surface relevant and engaging content to players within the vast library of Fortnite islands.
• Transform raw data into scalable production models and collaborate with backend engineering teams to integrate these solutions directly into our games.
• Evaluate model effectiveness through continuous iteration, rigorous experimentation, and automated monitoring to drive long-term ecosystem growth.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in data science and a genuine interest in the gaming industry. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of industry experience, ideally with a focus on live service video games.
• Expertise in Python development, including version control with GitHub and experience working in CI/CD environments.
• Proven ability to build efficient, scalable ML pipelines using PySpark for both batch and streaming workloads in a distributed computing environment.
• Experience with data architecture practices, feature stores, and orchestration tools like Airflow.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to partner with product and engineering teams to design event-level metrics and testable experiments.
