The role
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join us in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a senior-level position designed for someone who is passionate about using data to solve complex problems in the insurance and cybersecurity space. You will play a vital role in measuring, understanding, and optimizing our underwriting processes, ensuring that we can grow our revenue safely and efficiently through data-driven insights.
Core responsibilities
- Analyze complex datasets, including claims information and cybersecurity risk signals, to extract actionable patterns that improve our risk evaluation.
- Develop and refine advanced machine learning and statistical models that assess cybersecurity risks and enhance our underwriting and pricing accuracy.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives by collaborating with our engineering, product, and actuarial teams to automate underwriting workflows and implement data-driven improvements.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in quantitative analysis and a desire to tackle real-world digital risks. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- At least 5 years of experience in risk modeling, quantitative analysis, or underwriting within the insurance industry.
- Expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau to communicate your findings.
- Experience in the development and monitoring of insurance models and the creation of operational dashboards.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a remote team environment.
Compensation and benefits
We offer a competitive base salary for this position, which ranges from $134,700 to $198,475 per year depending on your geographic market and relevant experience. Beyond compensation, we support our team with a comprehensive benefits package:
