At GRID, we are transforming the world of competitive gaming by building sophisticated real-time prediction systems for titles like CS2, Dota 2, and League of Legends. Our technology powers live betting markets, delivering precise win probabilities and complex derivative markets as matches unfold. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in a fully remote capacity. If you have a passion for high-frequency data and want to own the entire lifecycle of predictive models from initial research to live deployment, we would love to have you on board.
Key outcomes
- Take the lead on researching and refining the statistical frameworks and machine learning models that drive our live odds.
- Transform raw, high-frequency esports telemetry into meaningful features that capture the nuances of in-game mechanics.
- Develop state-of-the-art models with a focus on probability calibration and rigorous backtesting to ensure accuracy and prevent data leakage.
- Translate baseline win probabilities into complex market logic for player props, handicaps, and totals.
- Oversee the deployment of your models into production-grade pipelines and microservices.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience working in quantitative research, statistical modeling, or data science.
- A deep and intuitive grasp of machine learning theory, statistics, and probability.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and the ability to write clean, production-ready code.
- Demonstrated success in building complex backtesting environments and creating custom evaluation metrics for unique business challenges.
- Professional fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of competitive esports, including the current meta and game mechanics for titles like League of Legends, Dota 2, and CS2.
- Experience working with streaming data or high-frequency datasets that update continuously.
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and experience using tools such as Airflow or MLFlow.
