At GROPYUS, we are on a mission to transform the construction industry by creating sustainable, affordable, and aspirational buildings for everyone. We believe in setting a new standard for smart living, and as we scale our operations, our data needs are growing rapidly. We are looking for a passionate professional to help us navigate this evolution while ensuring our data remains a secure and reliable asset.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Specialist to join our Data and AI vertical on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position based in Germany that operates in a hybrid work environment. You will report directly to the Head of Data and AI, serving as both a high-level individual contributor and a strategic partner to our leadership and technical teams.
What will you do?
- Develop and maintain our internal data governance framework, including the policies, standards, and procedures that keep our information organized and secure.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality across the organization, which includes monitoring metrics, performing data profiling, and driving continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with our Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure our data practices align with legal and regulatory requirements while supporting our broader data literacy and training programs.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in data management and a desire to solve complex problems. We are looking for someone who brings the following:
- A degree in Data Management, Computer Science, IT, or a related field, combined with at least five years of specialized experience in data governance and quality.
- Deep knowledge of governance frameworks like DAMA-DMBOK and experience with data architecture, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and navigate regulatory requirements such as GDPR.
- Proficiency in English and German is essential for this role.
- Bonus points if you have hands-on experience with data catalog tools, semantic ontologies, graph databases, or have worked within complex industries like construction or consulting.
What's in it for you?
Joining our team means you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on an industry that is ripe for innovation. Our benefits include:
- Stock options, allowing you to share in the success of the company as an owner.
- A flexible hybrid work model that supports remote work, giving you the autonomy to manage your own schedule and environment.
- The chance to work in a diverse, international team where your unique background and perspective are valued.
