The opportunity

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be at the heart of our technical operations, focusing on the creation, development, and maintenance of our core properties. This is a full-time, remote role where you will act as a technical leader, guiding junior team members and helping us refine our system designs. You will play a vital role in our engineering culture, ensuring that our technical standards remain high while supporting the professional growth of your colleagues. Your work will directly influence how we share data and leverage advanced analytics to improve patient outcomes.

A day in the life

• You will spend your time writing high-quality code and server-less functions, primarily using Scala, to build robust data microservices and ETL pipelines.
• You will design and maintain data ingestion frameworks within our Azure cloud environment, ensuring our systems are scalable and efficient.
• You will take the lead on technical projects, mentoring junior engineers and championing a strong culture of DevOps and quality assurance across the team.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer with about five years of experience in enterprise data engineering, ideally within the healthcare sector. You are comfortable working in an Azure environment and have a deep understanding of Big Data architectures. We are looking for someone who brings the following skills to the table:

• Strong proficiency in Scala and experience building both batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Expertise in API design and developing data-intensive solutions.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to lead projects and mentor others in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
