We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our high-performing team on a full-time basis. At Ophelos, we are transforming the debt collection industry by replacing outdated, intimidating practices with an empathetic, AI-native platform. Since our launch in 2021, we have partnered with major UK companies to help millions of people move toward financial stability. Following our acquisition by Intrum in 2023, we are entering an exciting phase of growth as we expand into 17 European markets. We operate in a hybrid environment and are seeking someone passionate about building scalable infrastructure to join our mission.

Responsibilities

Design and implement robust data pipelines and infrastructure that directly support our machine learning and analytics products.
Own business-critical components of our platform, ensuring that our data systems remain scalable and reliable as we grow.
Collaborate closely within our fast-paced data team to deliver high-impact data solutions that help individuals manage their debt.

Requirements

While we do not expect every candidate to be the finished article, we look for individuals who are eager to learn and grow with us. You should possess the following qualifications:

Strong proficiency in Python and PySpark.
A genuine interest in experimenting with new technologies to improve our build processes.
Experience working with a modern data stack, such as AWS and Databricks, is highly beneficial.
A deep commitment to our mission of helping households and businesses break the cycle of debt.

What we offer

We believe in pay transparency and are pleased to offer a salary range of £97,000 to £104,000 for this position. In addition to competitive compensation, you will benefit from:
