Emergent Software is a growing firm specializing in custom software development, cloud consulting, and data engineering. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our remote-first team, where you will tackle complex business problems and design high-quality data solutions for a diverse range of clients.

Responsibilities

Architect and maintain end-to-end data platforms on Azure, ensuring scalability and performance.
Design and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and other cloud-native tools.
Implement robust ETL/ELT processes using Python, SQL, and Spark.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build curated data models for Power BI reporting.
Lead architectural reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior team members.
Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployment standards.
Drive cloud cost optimization and maintain high standards for data security and compliance.

Must-haves

5 to 10 years of professional experience in data-focused roles.
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
Deep expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft data solutions.
Strong background in data modeling, including 3NF and star-schema design.
Experience with ETL development, performance tuning, and managing large-scale data environments.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage priorities across multiple client projects.
Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as the Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
