Senior Data Engineer at Simulmedia

We are Simulmedia, and we are currently seeking a curious and creative Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Services team. We are obsessed with building the most advanced streaming advertising platform on the market, and we want you to help us reach our goals. You will work alongside a talented group of engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers to build the systems that make our vast amounts of data accessible and useful across the entire company. This role is based in Ukraine, with our team split between Kyiv and Lviv, and you will need to be available to work from 11 am to 8 pm EEST.

What you'll be doing

• You will build innovative products that leverage our data to solve the complex technical challenges inherent in streaming video advertising.
• You will develop containerized applications, primarily using Python, that are deployed to the cloud to ensure our services remain robust and flexible.
• You will collaborate within an Agile team to deliver cutting-edge features, taking full ownership of your code while experimenting with new technologies to improve our platform.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 7 years of professional experience working as a data engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Python as your primary development language, along with deep experience in SQL and relational databases like Postgres or MySQL.
• Proven ability to design complex, normalized, and multi-dimensional data models.
• Experience building REST APIs using frameworks such as Flask, Django, or aio-http.
• A solid understanding of engineering best practices, including unit and integration testing, and the ability to maintain large server-side codebases.
• The ability to communicate effectively with our U.S. based teams in English.
• Experience with AWS is considered a significant plus.
