Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines that handle complex healthcare data. You will also play a crucial role in mentoring other engineers and driving best practices across the team. Your contributions will be instrumental in developing key applications used by healthcare and life sciences researchers to pioneer new therapies. You'll thrive in our dynamic, highly collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines for healthcare data
- Optimize data pipeline architecture to ensure efficiency, reliability, and data quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement effective solutions
- Implement data governance and security measures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve our data infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues in production environments
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data processes and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on ETL processes
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Demonstrable experience with Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of mentorship and fostering a collaborative team environment
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about healthcare technology transformation
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies
