We are Zippi, a fast-growing Brazilian fintech backed by Y Combinator and Tiger Global. Our mission is to give the country’s 22 million micro and small businesses the financial tools they need to thrive. We pioneered the use of Pix as an instant credit platform, allowing these businesses to access working capital in seconds and manage cash flow more effectively. Since launch we have reached profitability, now process more than R$ 3.4 billion in payments annually, and are scaling rapidly in a market valued at R$ 1.6 trillion.
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our high-performing, remote-first data team. In this role you will strengthen the data foundation that powers our credit engines, real-time automations, and business intelligence, working side-by-side with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to turn market insights into reliable, scalable data products.
Key outcomes
- Partner with business teams to translate market insights and user needs into robust data solutions that improve retention, conversion, and satisfaction metrics.
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines-from prototype to production instrumentation-ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Lead the technical direction of high-impact data projects, proposing resilient, long-term architectures while balancing speed and quality.
- Collaborate across functions to evolve operational and analytical data models as well as machine-learning pipelines that support real-time credit decisions.
- Run and evaluate A/B experiments, measure results against clear business metrics, and iterate quickly based on findings.
Requirements
- Solid experience building and operating modern data stacks, with demonstrated versatility across tools and languages rather than attachment to any single technology.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical data flows that deliver measurable value.
- Strong communication skills to align technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive joint decisions.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Full professional proficiency to work autonomously in a remote, results-oriented environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in fintech, credit, or high-growth marketplaces.
- Hands-on work with real-time data systems and machine-learning model deployment.
Compensation
We offer competitive market compensation along with participation in our stock-option program. Additional benefits include an annual learning budget, 100 % medical insurance coverage for you and dependents up to 18 years of age (50 % coverage for spouses or partners), childcare assistance for children up to six years old, meal vouchers, flexible vacation, access to Wellhub and Zenklub wellness platforms, and fully remote work.
