The role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position based in Portugal, operating in a hybrid work environment. In this role, you will be the bridge between our complex technical data puzzles and the strategic decision-making needs of our product and growth teams. You will be responsible for designing and deploying the systems that allow our stakeholders to gain deep visibility into user behavior and business performance.
Core responsibilities
- Engage directly with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data requirements and prioritize the development of pipelines that drive actionable insights.
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and semantic layers within our internal Data Lake, ensuring high data quality and availability.
- Develop and manage comprehensive dashboards and reporting tools using Tableau to track product telemetry, pipeline health, and user activity.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a proven track record of managing data at scale. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience in data engineering, specifically designing pipelines in multi-source cloud environments using Python.
- Expertise in SQL and Python with at least 5 years of hands-on application.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with data integration tools such as Fivetran or Stitch.
- At least 3 years of experience troubleshooting and developing in Tableau.
- At least 2 years of experience working with product analytics solutions like Google Analytics.
- Proficiency in AWS cloud storage and processing services.
- Strong familiarity with collaboration and project management tools including Jira, Slack, and GitHub.
- Fluency in English is required for this role.
