Senior Data Engineer at Blockworks

What you bring

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us full time in a fully remote capacity. In this role you will lead the design and evolution of our data models and pipelines, guiding both technical direction and day-to-day execution across our Engineering, Research, and Product teams. Your background in data architecture, large-scale warehousing, and modern orchestration tools will help us scale reliable data products that serve the fast-moving world of cryptocurrency. Three core responsibilities include owning our data sourcing pipelines, designing and implementing ETL solutions that pull from blockchain nodes and third-party sources into PostgreSQL and Clickhouse, and driving operational efficiency by automating routine tasks and improving workflows. This position is open to candidates located anywhere.

Requirements

You bring at least four years of hands-on experience modeling data, designing schemas, and operating large-scale data warehouses that process more than 100 million rows daily. You are fluent in Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript and write advanced SQL against Parquet, Postgres, and Clickhouse. You have built production data pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or GCP, and you are comfortable with orchestration platforms such as Airflow or Dagster as well as transformation frameworks like dbt. Beyond the technical stack, you are a collaborative leader who enjoys coaching teammates, thrives in fast-paced startup environments, and considers yourself crypto-native with deep knowledge of the industry. English fluency and a results-oriented mindset round out the profile of our ideal candidate.

What we offer

This full-time position offers a salary range of $160,000 - $200,000 per year.
