What you bring
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in our platform engineering department by shaping the infrastructure that drives our data-informed decisions. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Berlin. You will be responsible for the following:
- Designing and maintaining efficient, scalable data architectures that simplify the development of big data applications.
- Managing the migration of key technologies like Hadoop, Flink, and Kafka into the cloud environment.
- Taking technical ownership of our data platform components while collaborating closely with our analytics, data science, and backend engineering teams.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of experience in data engineering who is comfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. You should have strong proficiency in Python, with Java experience being a significant plus. A deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform is essential, alongside a solid grasp of DevOps practices, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud security principles. We value individuals who are eager to learn, enjoy mentoring teammates through pair programming, and possess the communication skills to explain complex data findings to a broader audience. Proficiency in English is required for this role.
