About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team and help us continue to build and maintain a robust data platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data engineering principles, experience with modern data platforms and tools, and the ability to develop and maintain complex data pipelines and integrations.

Responsibilities:

Data Platform

• Work with a cross functional team to identify, rollout and maintain our next generation data platform and warehouse.
• Work closely with Data Science and Analysts to build pipelines/platform solutions for enabling Analytics, Underwriting, Segmentation, Experimentation and beyond 
• Build and maintain infrastructure for warehouse replication and supporting presentation layers on top 

API Integrations

• Develop and maintain various pipeline integrations interfacing with Salesforce, Hubspot, Plaid, Datadog and more
• Ensure seamless data flow and integration between multiple systems and services

File Ingestion

• Develop file parsers and pipelines for ingesting various financial transaction data file formats from providers such as TSYS, Worldpay, and New York Fed SOFR rates
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of ingested data

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 4+ years of proven experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data platforms and pipelines
• Proficiency in SQL and Python(Java experience is  plus)
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other comparable RDBMS  and data architecture principles
• Experience working with Data Orchestration/Workflow platforms such as Dagster or Airflow
• Experience designing and implementing datalakehouse solutions with technologies like AWS Athena and Apache Iceberg 
• Experience building CDC (Change Data Capture) and streaming workflows is a big plus
• Knowledge of  Data Build Tool (DBT), Docker, and AWS ECS
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, business intelligence (BI), and data architecture
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Must be willing to work in onsite, 3 days per week

Nice to Have:

• Experience in financial services or fintech industry
• Familiarity with financial transaction data and relevant file formats
• Understanding of data governance and data security best practices
• Experience working on RESTful web services  and delivering API based features

Applicants located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the expected annual base compensation range for this role is $180,000 to $225,000 USD. Final offers may vary within the range provided based on prior experience, expertise, skills and other factors.
