We are Coreso, a Regional Coordination Center based in the heart of Brussels. We operate at the center of the European energy landscape, where we coordinate high-voltage electricity flows for Transmission System Operators to ensure a secure supply of power across the region. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis. In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into actionable insights by architecting robust data pipelines and creating sophisticated data models that support both our reporting needs and machine learning initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT and ETL pipelines using Python, ensuring high standards for data quality, schema consistency, and efficient processing of grid-related time-series datasets.
- Orchestrate automated workflows using Apache Airflow to guarantee the reliable and timely delivery of data for critical operational and regulatory reporting.
- Execute advanced data transformations and modeling using dbt and SQL to build optimized structures that serve our analytical and business intelligence requirements.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building data pipelines with Python.
- Strong technical proficiency with Apache Airflow, dbt, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Proven ability to utilize Docker for containerization within development and deployment workflows.
- A solid background in time-series analytics, including experience with interpolation, resampling, and time-based joins.
- Familiarity with BI tools and a strong grasp of data modeling and data quality principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional, international team.
