Senior Data Engineer - Databricks at Ultra Tendency

We are currently expanding our operations in South Korea and are looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our growing local team. At Ultra Tendency, we specialize in big data, cloud, streaming, and IIoT solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with architects, data scientists, and fellow engineers to design and implement high-impact data solutions.

Key outcomes

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using the Databricks Lakehouse platform, leveraging Apache Spark and Delta Lake.
• Develop and optimize both batch and streaming data workflows to support business intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into reliable, production-ready data solutions.
• Enhance the cost efficiency and performance of data processing workloads within the Databricks environment.
• Promote best practices regarding data security, governance, and quality across the organization.
• Contribute to our culture of knowledge sharing by mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional growth.

Requirements

• Extensive practical experience with Databricks and Apache Spark, including proficiency in PySpark, SQL, or Scala.
• Proven track record of building data platforms within major cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, distributed data processing, and system performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or Databricks Workflows.
• Strong communication skills in both Korean and English, enabling effective collaboration in a global work environment.
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for developing stable, scalable data systems.
